Authors: Rodigheri, Anameri Lara Bonotto
Abstract: The information revolution has replaced the industrial revolution. This reality has brought advances and changes in several aspects, such as in people's relationships, in their work and ways of learning. Technology makes information quick to access and young people are the ones who use it the most.It istherefore necessary to know the perspective of teenagers about their use of digital information and communication technologies – DICTs, as well as their interaction in school and personal daily life. This study, with a mixed research/intervention methodology, has sought, in the first, to verify how adolescents use the DICTs. It started by applying an interview form and a test called Internet Addiction Test (IAT). After theresearcher analyzed the data from these instruments, the results of the IAT were returned to theparticipants to be discussed in the Epistemological Circles. In the meetings, it was possible to discuss how the changes caused by this revolution, especially in the last 30 years, have had animpact on our lives. The excessive use of screens, the way that the subjects access the DICTs, was a highlighted topic addressed, as well asthe fact that the DICTs s can serve both to help us in the acquisition of knowledge and to harm us by distracting us from the focus of learning. In order to have a better understanding of theseprocesses had the discussions in the Epistemological Circles, to verify the repercussion of this use the daily lives of adolescents and to act ss a means of raising awareness about the use of DICTs. In addition to that, a technical product was designed to reflect the most significant aspects of the content of the debates and serve as an educational material on the topic. This work is part of the research line Social Practices, Organizations and Culture of the Professional Master's Degree in Psychology at UNISC.
