Title: O suicídio na região central do estado do RS : narrativas epistêmicas do suicídio.

Abstract: Suicide is a phenomenon of world scale and multiple factors that affects all societies. This study is an intervention research that aimed to understand how the phenomenon of suicide is approached by mental health professionals in the city of Santa Maria, state of Rio Grande do Sul. This is a qualitative exploratory descriptive and interventive type of research, which used as a research technique focus groups, with professionals from a service specialized in welcoming suicidal behavior. One focus group was held with 03 meetings, with the participation of 09 professionals who work in the service. For data analysis, discursive textual analysis was used, which pointed to the understanding of suicide by professionals from mental distress and suicide narratives through professional experience; and institutional care, based on institutional listening to suicidal discourse and clinical reception practices. The speeches of these professionals mark an attempt to understand suicide from the sufferings and epistemic narratives. Regarding reception, they emphasize listening as fundamental and what demarcate their clinical practices. With this, subsidies were created for the elaboration of a protocol of reception to the suicidal behavior, being an instrument as social technology for the reception and humanization of the care to the psychic suffering and the suicidal speech.
